FRANCISCI MAGNUS AMOR is a new recording, exploring the great love of a collector and enthusiast of early keyboard instruments. A large number of copies of historical keyboard instruments (not to mention new constructions) level out the different registers of their originals in favour of a sound that is as homogeneous as possible. Peter Waldner lets us discover here, on the basis of two lovingly and meticulously restored historical instruments from the 16th century, a little-known fascinating world of sound that also has its rough edges.
